As a vice principal at San Joaquin Memorial I was credited by then Chief of Police Jerry Dyer for stopping a potential school shooting after following a lead from a student report of social media posts. The event helped us create better security and safety protocols on the campus. |

During the pandemic and school closure, I sought ways to stay connected with students and families. I uploaded YouTube videos of me reading books to our learners. I also assigned writing tasks and showcased student entries in my weekly newsletter. KMPH 26 covered a story of this work after a parent contacted them with the information. |
